What inspired you to sign up for the List-a-Palooza 90 Day List-Building Challenge?
Last year, I decided to take a bold step forward in my business to serve lots more women. I knew that I had to build a bigger list to make that happen and List-a-Palooza showed up at the right time with tools, strategies and insights to support my growth!
What have been your biggest “ahas” or takeaways from List-a-Palooza?
Although there was a TON of great content from all the List-a-Palooza speakers, my biggest “aha” was actually a major mindset shift! By joining the challenge, I really got serious about proactively growing my list and making a goal to double it vs. having little random bursts of new subscriber activity here and there.
Do you offer a free gift or goody for potential clients when they join your list? If not, how do people join your list? If so, what is it and how do people sign up?
Yes! My free gift is called the Life Mapping Workbook. It is a 14-page downloadable PDF guide with colorful, printable worksheets to help you design your ideal life in 7 key areas. You can get your copy here: http://happyblackwoman.com
Which list-building tactics have worked best for you?
Offering free webinars and teleseminars and promoting them on social media. People love them so much and I love teaching them! It’s like magic how easy it is to grow your list this way. Every time I host a free call or training for my community (at least once a month), I attract hundreds of NEW subscribers to my list. Using these strategies, I’ve been able to build on the momentum of last year’s List-a-Palooza results and grow my list size to a total of over 10,000 as of June 2014!
What advice do you have for people who are participating in List-a-Palooza?
Pick just 1-2 strategies and then do them several times, over and over to maximize your results. For instance, if you host a teleseminar and lots of people sign up, do it again the next month. Keep it simple and just keep repeating what works. And please don’t get discouraged if your numbers are small at first. List building is kind of like a fundraising drive. Every little bit helps!
Anything else? Is there anything that you wish I’d asked that I didn’t or specific thoughts you’d like to share with the List-a-Palooza community?
Thank you PJ for putting together such a fantastic resource to help entrepreneurs grow their businesses!
